Do I need to audition to join the London Classical Choir?

No audition is required. The choir welcomes experienced choral singers as well as people with a good voice who are new to choral singing but keen to learn.

What kind of music does the London Classical Choir sing?

We perform major classical works with orchestra as well as themed concerts and a varied mix of music from different periods, including well-known classical repertoire and accessible choral works.

Where does the London Classical Choir rehearse?

Rehearsals take place in North London, usually at the Octagon Hall, St Saviour’s Church in Primrose Hill, a few minutes’ walk from Chalk Farm tube station.

When do rehearsals take place?

Rehearsals are usually held on Fridays, with around seven rehearsals per term plus additional rehearsals before concerts and performances.

Can I try the choir before joining?

Yes, you can attend a rehearsal at any point during the term. It is recommended to join earlier where possible to get the most out of the concert preparation.

Do I need to read music to join?

It helps but is not required. Members are supported in following written music and developing their music reading skills during rehearsals.

What are performances like?

The choir performs major choral works with orchestra, themed concerts, and charity performances, often in large London venues and sometimes livestreamed.

What is the London Classical Choir community like?

It is a friendly, multicultural choir of around thirty singers of mixed ages and backgrounds, with a strong social community and regular events outside rehearsals.

How many rehearsals do I need to attend?

Singers are expected to attend regularly, including at least four rehearsals per term, with the final rehearsals and concert day being compulsory.
