Contact Matthew if you are interested in effective and enjoyable singing or piano lessons, or help with reading music or sight-singing.
Matthew is experienced at teaching adults of all ages, from complete beginners to diploma level, and children at both primary and secondary level (for which he has an up to date DBS check). He is a qualified teacher (Certificate in Teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), and his pupils have achieved excellent results in Associated Board exams (they have all passed, most have got merits, and some distinctions). He teaches classical and popular repertoire.
Lessons can be during the week (daytime or evenings), or on Saturdays before lunch, and take place either at Matthew’s flat (near Chalk Farm tube), at the student's house, or on video (Skype or Whatsapp). The cost is £50 per hour, or £40 for forty minutes. An extra charge may be made for travelling to a student’s house.
Reviews
“Matthew is very friendly and knowledgeable. My singing has improved 10-fold since starting lessons! I still take lessons after several years, best decision I made!” Douglas
”Matthew taught two of our teenage sons (not an easy task!) through several piano grades and we were very happy with his approach and the results. He did a great job and we recommend him.” Dougal
”Matthew has been teaching our children piano for nearly four years. He is an engaging teacher who has a friendly rapport with the children but they also respect him and work hard. They are successfully working their way through the grades while still enjoying the piano. Matthew communicates very well with me and helps me understand how the children are progressing and how I can help. We are very happy with Matthew's teaching.” Rachel
