London Classical Orchestra

The London Classical Orchestra, leader Regan Crowley, was formed by Matthew Watts in 2019, and is made up of professionals from orchestras including the BBCSO, and players from some of the capital’s top conservatoires and amateur bands. Once or twice a year the group (which plays at A440 pitch) stages a Concert for the Homeless, performing alongside the London Classical Choir, raising thousands of pounds for charity. Repertoire has included JS Bach’s Violin Concerto in E Major (soloist Kryštof Kohout), Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, Debussy’s Danse Sacrée et Danse Profane (harpist Vicky Lester, BBCSO), Handel’s Messiah and Ode for St Cecilia’s Day, Fauré’s Requiem, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto (soloist Jonathan Parkin, BBCSO) and Requiem, Purcell’s opera Dido & Aeneas, and Vivaldi’s Gloria and Four Seasons (soloist Alessandro Cannizzaro, Philharmonia). If you are interested in playing with us please contact Matthew here.
